Full-Time Courses at Area 51 |
|
All courses at Area 51 work towards developing the core skills of communication, social skils and the capacity to work with others and independently - these skills are embedded into the planning and delivery of every class, and targets relating to these areas will be included on every learner's individual learning plan. We firmly believe that these four areas lie at the heart of progress for every individual. |

The programme offers an individualised package to each applicant, combining work experience at Area 51 with additional input around communication, basic skills and ICT as well as any other areas identified by the learner as important to them. Area 51 is a social enterprise and aims to employ people with learning difficulties as part of its work force. Progression opportunities from Pathways to Work, therefore, maybe into the Area 51 team, or into a work placement or job with an external employer. We are committed to teaching people to carry out specific work-related tasks, and to provide a viable system for them to be as independent as possible in the workplace. This commitment extends to employers - as we will then work with future employers to embed an individualised work system. This course is only open to learners who have already completed some studies at further education level, and who are 21 or older. For more details, please contact Nicki. |
